Alex Darocy is an Independent Journalist and Fine-Art Photographer based in Santa Cruz, California, where he has lived since he was three. He has been taking pictures since the age of ten, first using instamatic film cameras and then 35mm SLRs, years before the advent of digital photography.

His photographic interests include Photojournalism, Protest Photography, Street Photography, Cop Watch, Macro Photography, Landscape Photography, and Toy Photography.

He holds a B.A. in History of Art and Visual Culture from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
